Vantage Point
The Vantage Point advocacy service supports people with disability to safeguard their rights, experience equality and overcome barriers, so they can access opportunities on the same basis as everyone else.
Everyone needs justice, acceptance, love, security and control over the course of their lives, and from time to time we all need practical support or even representation. Unfortunately, these human needs are often not met for people with disabilities. This disadvantage and vulnerability sometimes requires injustices to be understood and effectively responded to.
The Vantage Point advocacy service provides a free, short-term, non-legal advocacy advice service. The service can be provided via phone or other communication mode at a mutually suitable time. Information, advice, and onwards referral (where relevant) will be provided.
The primary focus of this advocacy service will be on fundamental needs.
Those seeking the service must:
- Have a disability and be prepared to disclose details
- Have access to a phone and preferably able to receive emails
- Be willing and able to engage in conversation (either verbal, typed or other mutually suitable format) or have someone able to do this for them during the appointment.
- Live in one of the following 12 Local Government Areas:
